About
Meet Nancy Coughlin, LCSW, therapist for women in Rochester, NY
Ready to stop feeling consumed with worry? exhausted from burnout? overwhelmed by life transitions?
It’s time to feel better, find balance and thrive.
I specialize in empowering busy women through sharing various strategies, especially through using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We will collaborate to identify and challenge barriers that hinder personal growth. And together, we'll create tailored strategies to foster resilience, self-confidence, and lasting emotional well-being so you can thrive.
What it’s like to work with me:
iDENTIFY—
At first, we’ll identify specific issues or concerns you want to address, and from there, set clear goals for therapy. I will help you understand how your thoughts, emotions and behaviors are interconnected. You’ll learn to recognize patterns and understand how they impact your well-being.
2. CHALLENGE—
You will work to reframe or restructure unhelpful thinking in a more balanced, realistic way that will help you feel better. I will teach you practical coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety or other symptoms. CBT often includes homework assignments or exercises to practice the skills we’ve discussed in our sessions. This helps reinforce learning and gives you practice using the tools in real-life situations. Together we’ll monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed.
3. TRANSFORM—
Because of your hard work using the tools and strategies we’ve discussed, you will feel better, AND you will be equipped with long-term skills to manage bumps in the road that you may encounter in the future.
